When a Child Prays

Three-year old Mercie gave the family prayer last night.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we're thankful for juice and snacks and cookies at church. We thankful to Primary, except Eric. We're thankful for playing in Uncle Dan's room. Thank you that Mommy is a witch. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

There is a story behind this, but it's so much better left as is, don't you think?

Is that of the East or of the West? There is a difference.

I'm relatively certain she was thinking more "Wicked Witch of West' type...

Reminds me of when you kids would salute and call me the "Commanding General" at chore time. But I don't think it was used in flattering way.

You have the funniest kids. I'd really love to hear the story behind that one.

The real story is much more flattering to Ms. Mommy. The kids came up with a *hilarious* game where they'd sneak into the room and Mom, aka the Witch, would make witchy noises and chase them out. We played it over and over and over and over and over and over, and apparently at family prayer time it was still on Mercie's mind :).
