Why It is Impossible to Have a Conversation With a 6-Year Old
Child: Can I have a lemonade when we get home?
Mom: No.
Two minutes pass.
Child: So, remember how you said I could probably have a lemonade when we get home?
Mom: No.
Child: Well, you definitely said I could have one, I'm sure.

I had nearly this same conversation with my 13 year old just yesterday.
I've made all kinds of promises to my kids which I have no recollection of. Maybe they use hypnosis.
Come on, just give the kid the lemonade ;)
